Please take a moment of silence today to remeber the horrific events and sad loss of life in New York on September 11, 2001.

Let it never happen again, anywhere in the world.

Also please do take the time to remember those innocent lives that have been lost in the "War on Terror" all around the world.

Thank you.

Mike.

Thanks. I took some time to think what I was going to type and how it would come out when read. It's sometimes hard to get things like this across in text. :D

Also, the folks who died at the Pentagon and in the field over Pennsylvania. They so often get forgotten, especially with all the controversy over what to do with the WTC site.

We lived in Chicago at the time - It was the most beautiful day I can remember. The sky was so clear and vibrant-blue. We were actually getting ready to leave our apartment and head to a park near the John Hancock Building when it all went down. They halted all inbound busses and trains in Chicago. And of course the air traffic was halted as well. It was so strange and unnerving.

I still cry when reminded of those events. I wasn't the type who couldn't function or anything right after, but when I envision people jumping from those immense structures... or people deciding to take on a bunch of terrorists aboard a plane... ah... 'tis too much sometimes. I'm a very empathic person, so I feel a lot of pain and sadness when thinking of that day.

What's been hard for us is keeping things in an understandable perspective for our kids. They were so young at the time - they don't really remember the actual events, and it's hard for them to conceive the significance. I'm sure as they get older and have more experiences they can understand a bit better.

Sorry to be so wordy. Hope I didn't offend anyone with my ramblings.

Cheers,
Loonette
