Fuel Valve
Hey guys, I know that I'm supposed to turn my fuel valve off when parked so that fuel doesn't get into the cylinder and dilute the oil, but will that happen if the bike is ridden all through the day, everyday of the year?

That's a lot of riding. When do you find the time to fuel uptouge_dorifuto wrote:bike is ridden all through the day, everyday of the year?

In all seriousness I thought the whole idea to turning off the fuel valve is so that the carbs don't accidentally get flooded. Flooded carbs and the bike won't start.

Funny, I didn't "know" that I was supposed to turn off the fuel.touge_dorifuto wrote:Hey guys, I know that I'm supposed to turn my fuel valve off when parked so that fuel doesn't get into the cylinder and dilute the oil, but will that happen if the bike is ridden all through the day, everyday of the year?

If you ride your bike every day, the chances of your floats getting gummed up and passing excess fuel are small. This is usually a problem common to bikes that sit for long periods of time.

lol I leave mine on all t he time as well. The one time I did turn it off I forgot to turn it back on and spent about 30s wondering why the bike stalled just as I was about to takeoff. good thing I have to look down at my key otherwise it woulda taken me forever to figure it out lol.
