This race engine is based on the SXV/RXV 450/550 77° V-Twin engine, but in a 75° V4 configuration. This may resultat in a compact engine, with DOHC and dry sump (unlike the SXV/RXV).

More details will be unveilled at the Milano EICMA, but we can expect around 200HP now thanks to recent improvments as the previous tests stated 188HP.

Superbike means also production bike. Leo Mercanti hinted that the production bike will focus on ridability rather than a "full superbike" copy. The production bike may be available in 2008, pricing more than a RSV 1000 R Factory, but way less than other italian Superbikes.

I can think of a certain Japanese company that needs to improve a certain 800cc V4.
Like, fast 'n' stuff.
