WILLIAMSPORT - Despite the chill in the air Saturday morning, 24 motorcyclists showed up at Harley-Davidson & Buell of Williamsport for the third annual 50-mile Marine Corps League Toys for Tots ride.

"We raised just shy of $1,200," said Robin Brown, administrative assistant at the motorcycle company.

Brown said a number of people paid the $15 registration fee and didn't ride. Some also paid $10 and donated a toy. Several dozen toys had been collected by day's end.

Adding to the money taken in was proceeds from raffles, with prizes including a Dentler Brothers' cedar chest and a Harley-Davidson leather jacket.

In addition, the Alsatia Club of Hagerstown provided doughnuts at the start of the ride.

The Independent Order of Red Men Conococheague Tribe 84 in Williamsport donated a free lunch at the end of the ride, Brown said.

The money collected will be used to purchase toys for underprivileged children.
