Guests from Croatia, Israel and Japan wrapped up a one-week stay Monday at the Barber Motorsports Park, where they checked out and rode the Honda CBR 600 motorcycle for the first time.
The motorsports journalists and industry leaders were guests of Tokyo-based Honda Motor Co., which chose the Barber track to introduce the new motorcycle to a European audience, said Sara Hood, a spokeswoman for the track. The CBR 600 is the third major product launch at Barber, following the Porsche Cayenne and the Ford GT.
The track, built by Birmingham dairy and real estate magnate George Barber, is a major economic engine, hosting auto and motorcycle races all year, in addition to company-specific events such as the Honda launch.
The event started Nov. 22, and took 660 hotel rooms.
