Ride Safe & Don't Mind The Slow Poke

#1 Unread post by mswarrior »

First of all I'de like to say hello to everyone. I am new to the forum and already "even after the hack" I have respect for what you have here.

I have been riding for some 20 years and in 2000 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I vowed that it would not take me off my bike, and it didn't. If anything it has made me ride more. The only restriction I have is that I can't do the stupid things I used to do. I take it easy now and just cruise but on occasion take my Interceptor to 200km. So if ya see someone doing the speed limit and roar past at 300km, slow down for a sec and wave. It's not so much about the speed to me anymore, it's being on the bike and enjoying the freedom and scenery.
Many say live to ride, I say ride is to live.

Hi Warrior

Welcome to the site.

Sounds like you have had a lot of adjusting to do. I'm always impressed when people have the guts to stick to their life plan whatever they get thrown at them. Glad to hear you are still riding.

There are plenty of good conversations to be had here. Stick around.

Have fun

Richard

:welcome: to the community mswarrior!!

Good for you in being strong enough to keep riding and enjoying what you love to do! It takes a lot guts and I respect you for it.

Excelent line : "It's not so much about the speed to me anymore, it's being on the bike and enjoying the freedom and scenery." I couldn't agree more with that for my riding style as well.

Mike.

P.S. I have moved your post out of the Total Motorcycle Talk and into the "Start Your Engines" forum as you will get more "HI!" and "HELLOS" there. :D

Welcome aboard! I've witnessed what a bumpy ride MS can become - it's so great that you're willing to take that ride with your other ride. It'll keep you happy and moving in a positve direction to be doing something that you love so much. Enjoy the forums.

Cheers,
Loonette

Wow! That's an inspiring post. I have to agree - speed is not the most important part of what we do. Some of my most memorable rides were when I was just putt-putting along and in no hurry.

Glad to have you aboard and hope you consider this your home away from bike!
Let me get this straight... it's one down and four up, right?
