I'd have to say that both were crashes, or maybe 'wrecks.'

I consider any UNplanned get off while moving, to be a crash.

Dropping the bike in parking lot or driveway (at walking speed or slower) is a 'tipover.'

First, I'm amazed that the rules allow for just grabbing any old bike and finishing the race after you have CRASHED the original one enough that it can't finish the race. That would seem to favor riders with a lot of spare bikes.

He can call it whatever he wants, but to normal people, both incidents are crashes. Really fortunate outcomes do not make the incident disappear.

I guess his idea of a "crash" is if he is missing needed body parts?

Crash one....he is clipping along at a meager 60mph when a deer comes...

Crash two...During a Formula Pacific race with the AFM at Sears Point he is in the lead on what I believe to be lap 2 and at 3A he highsides...

So would you consider either a crash...He doesn't on either...I disagree and say yea those are both crashes simply due to coming off the bike on both occasions.

Your buddy sounds like one tough am-fm. I am willing to call both non-crashes if he never decides to come riding near me!
