After adding a K&N filter and increasing the front sprocket by a tooth I get around 58 mpg on the highway then 42 city. My Vulcan 5 is still pretty quick but I'm still envious towards Ninja 250 riders. As for my parent's Pathfinder, it's been a reliable workhorse for those days when the Mazda 3 can't cut it... shame a 20 gallon tank won't go further than 400 miles.

The masses aint' gonna switch cause those damn machines are dangerous and you have to work to ride one. Hopefully the Piaggio MP3 will get more people riding since it's automatic and much more stable.
One thing you can count on: You push a man too far, and sooner or later he'll start pushing back.

My bandit 600 gets 50mpg in town, 45mpg on the highway, and 55mpg in the canyons (typical for a 600 sport bike, the harder you ride it the less gas it uses).

My Chevy Prizm gets about 26 mpg in town and 30mpg on the highway.

Whats really scary is my VW GTI which is a HELL of a lot faster than my Prizm gets about 27mpg in town and almost 40mpg on the highway.

I make $17 per hour I can afford the gas price increase, I don't understand why everybody complains about gas prices when they make enough money to pay for gas.

B/c most people complain about any change in disposible income? People don't like having less purchase power?

moto I make $34 dollars an hour and I still complain about gas prices, people budget on what they make. Storysunfolding hit it on the head. The more money you make the more you spend on stuff you dont need but want.

A budget is a lot like a hard drive or a closet. The bigger it is, the more stuff you fit in it.

Moto, I thought you said you were rich... $17 an hour is $1 more then you make at Tim Horton's/A&W/McDonald's/Etc. Etc. Etc. around here.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Since when do people get 10+ $ for working at mcdonalds? In Wisconsin kids got paid 6-8. In Monterey, cashiers get paid 15-20, mailman get 55k, and pharmacists get $50+/hour. (I saw it in the ad) I dont have a job, although If I could get one I would.
