Since Alberta is short 150000 workers. And need more every day. All kinds of places are closing down, cost of living is still reasonable... unless you need to buy/rent a house. In which case you're going to take it in the "O Ring".
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

um. the only things that is noticeably more expensive is housing (and housing related, like water) and service (like mechanical or anything)

like I am paying 2.5K for a 2 bed, 1 bath 810 sq foot apartment per month I have to pay for dryers/washer, expensive gross water.

I paid about half as much as that back in Wisconsin for a house 3 1/2 times bigger in sq feet. My property was twice as big as my entire apartment complex + parking.

food isnt much different
clothes are more expensive because there are no cheap brands,
car mechanics charge way more

Wow move to the suburbs of buffalo, I have a 960 sq/ft apartment, real nice and I pay 630 a month and includes water. I am buying a house (I close on the 28th of march) it is a 3 bedroom brick ranch, living room dining room, family room, fireplace, full basemrnt, 3 car garage and I payed roughly 90k, on a 1/3 acre lot fully fenced with privacy wood fencing. for 2500 a month you can buy a new 2000 sq/ft home in the area i just bought a home. School and property taxes for my new house is roughly 2900 a year. We heat with natural gas.

If you want to see houses in my area i am moving to look at a local realty site

http://www.realtyusa.com click under residental then buffalo and look at towns like derby, angola, hamburg, brant

My Vulcan 5 is still pretty quick but I'm still envious towards Ninja 250 riders. As for my parent's Pathfinder, it's been a reliable workhorse for those days when the Mazda 3 can't cut it... shame a 20 gallon tank won't go further than 400 miles.

The masses aint' gonna switch cause those damn machines are dangerous and you have to work to ride one. Hopefully the Piaggio MP3 will get more people riding since it's automatic and much more stable.
I don't know about other 250 riders, but personally, I've only been able to squeeze out 50 MPG on my 2002. I do end up revving it on the aggressive side (8-11k before I shift), but I did hear somebody on the ninja250.net forums note that you'd have to "ride like a grandma" to get the rated max of 70 MPG. (Their words, not mine, I'm all for grandmas/grandpas getting their ride on :D)

Of course, I love the fact that I get to "complain" about getting ONLY 50mpg, compared to my inclement weather ride (a Toyota Sienna mini-van topping at 20mpg). Any other Ninjette riders have any tips?
