My Suzuki won't run, and I can't find parts!
My Suzuki won't run, and I can't find parts!
I've got an 82 GS750T. Bought her last fall, rode for about a week or two, and she hasn't started since. Finally got around to really working on her a couple of weeks ago, and she needs a top-end rebuild (horrible compression). But... I can't find any parts!
So what should I do? Try to part her out and hopefully recoup the most money this way *sniff*
hope to get a decent price (know I won't get what I've spent) on ebay?
or...
Any suggestions?

have you tried checking with the folks over on http://www.thegsresources.com
When I had my '83 GS650GL, they were a great help for both maintenance advice and parts sourcing.

That's an excellent website he mentioned above. You may want to join up on their forums as they are very helpful there (I'm there too but not so helpful as I'm learning as well). The site also has more than a forum, such as the GS Papers I believe they're called. Lots of helpful information on how to clean the carbs thoroughly.
But if you want to bypass all that, the place I get all my parts is www.z1enterprises.com
They have everything, and you can even break down parts to your exact year, model, and engine.
But if you don't wish to keep the bike I'll be happy to take it off your hands when the time comes. I love those old GSs and would love to have a second one to tinker with. Maybe make this one street-ready.

Jeff, the guy who runs Z1, is actually fairly good at sourcing parts not readily available on his site- send him and email and he may be able to find what you need.I've checked on Z1Enterprises (and ordered some things) but they don't have any parts listed for the top end rebuild that needs to be done. I can't find them, at least.

Bike Bandit for after market or original parts etc... on line. Are you mechanicaly inclined ? Get yourself a Clymer manual and do all yourself. With comon sense and living that book through to the end you will succeed. I did. GL
