hey guys im working on my 84 V45 magna, and i am having trouble getting the carbs back in, i cant get them to line up on the engine properly, i even tried putting the boots onto the carbs but still no luck. Any suggestions to make this process easier?

What do you mean by "line up properly?"
Have you got any pictures of your cylinders/carbs? That would help.
Usually you pull the airbox boot way back, then push the carbs onto the cylinder manifold, and tighten the nuts into place (alternate back and forth only going a couple of turns so it tightens down evenly this will prevent warping) holding the carb where it belongs, you then shove the boot forwards onto the neck of the other side of the carb, and work it around the opening using a flathead screwdriver... darn things can be a PAIN to get on.

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

It's a matter of lubing the carbs and intakes. Heat them up first, either boil or use a hair dryer (in the absense of gas fumes)- lube them up and get the front in first, then push them toward the front and slide the back in.
Lots of good posts at that site about how to do it but it's often trial and error. I like to use a small flathead screw driver to GENTLY pull the rear boots back alittle to help them set.
