9000white - I came up blank when I tried to find it on yahoo news. That bit of information if you can find it again would really put a spin on this story.

Mike.

"Judge Wayan Suastrawan noted that customs officers testified that Corby looked "nervous" and "tried not to open the bag" when asked to by customs officials"

Yup, that does put an interesting spin on the story. I'm sure more will come out soon...

Who would try to smuggle weed INTO Tailand? Smuggle some Tai-stick out, maybe, but in? That's like smuggling a brick of coke into Columbia......
No Witnesses.... :shifty:

Either way....20 years in that Joint is too much time.

I'll NEVER go there again, stuff em.

Anyway....What's the big deal, it was only grass after all.

Hey Mr White, how would you feel if it was YOUR daughter....
Still have that 'throw away the key' attitude?

of course not.i would explain to the top officials that my daughter is exempt from their laws.after all it's just nine pounds of grass.however i fully support their efforts to lock up the poor unknown drug smugglers.
if your concern over this 20 year sentence is so great i am sure that if enough money exchanges hands the time will be drastically reduced.care to make a contribution?? after all it's only money.

Sure why not, let's see what happens....& if they ask I'll give.

I would like to think that if it was ME in that situatuation the people of my country would donate a few buck to get me out. (Than again perhaps the'd donate to keep me IN jail :? :D )

All I can say is you'd have to be a complete idiot to try to bring in marajuana in a boogie board cover like that.

I also heard that the juges over there have no real qualifications like our countries do.

Oh & who can forget the Bali bombing where so many Aussies perished, No, Bali is not my preferred destination for a relaxing vacation.

the only true justice system is the one we have here in the states.there is one set of laws for crooked politicians where punishment for the most severe crime is a strong rebuke.then we have one set for the rich where anything goes up to and including murder without any punishment at all.then we have the one for the sports hero and their entourage where murder, rape, drug usage is punished by widespread media coverage and appearances on late night talk shows.then we have the laws for the nobody's.these are the ones rotting in prison whether guilty of a crime or not.

I'm 'here in the states', and I think that's quite a joke.

As for being nervous when asked to open her bag? I'd be nervous about it too, even if I just had a sack full of pillows. :P Getting stopped and searched anywhere would kind of put me off a bit.

And 20 years really is too much, regardless, espcially if it was a first offense.
