Hello everyone and thanks for the warm welcome! I'm just about to start me bike riding lessons next week .... I'm really hyped about getting my permit stamped & purchasing a motorcycle. I've been wanting to do this for a loooooong time! Presently I'm looking at a Yamaha v-star 1100 silverado, my first bike! Any thoughts or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated!!!

639 lb motorcycle - that's hefty for a first bike, though hopefully the center of gravity is pretty low. Be careful with low speed maneuvers at first 'til you get the knack of it - don't apply front brakes at low speeds with the handlebars turned! (you'll learn about this in the lessons...)
