risking insurance fraud is serious business... but id take the chance also with that one ;)

problem was i was technically not legally parked... I had parked at the end of the lot in the "cuttaway".

I was trying to be a nice guy and give all the acctual spots to people who were driving cars.

so thats the only thing that i can see as a downside on my part, though i did report a hit and run though i dont know how much that was reported on cause we told the cop that we had gotten in contact with the guy.

oh yeah here are some pictures.

That damage to the fins is not all that bad. I've seen much worse on the road.

Yeah - I've seen fins way worse out riding around - I doubt you'll notice anything from that. My guess is that on an 85 Nighthawk the insurance would total it no matter what happened to it. I say you get $500 from the dude off the books and then save it for your new bike. Anything to do with those fins getting fixed by a shop is gonna cost way more than the bike is worth IMHO.

I wouldn't sweat those missing chunks of fin, they aren't that big. But take the cager for everything you can and put it towards your 599. Don't let that careless idjit get away without making it hurt a bit for him.
No Witnesses.... :shifty:

I agree, but you better hurry, there aren't really a lot of 599's left in North America. They only made them in 04.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Yeah, i've been looking online for ones for sale, and there are very few. :(

heh and as i have around 150 dollars total saved for a bike,.... well 50 after i paint the nighthawk.... anyway so i figure i'm gonna ask him for 600 dollars to cover the damage and put that in the bank.

It appears that it might take a while to save up for that 599.

jus a couple of ??? (wife was an insurance agent) private lot? parked in an area not intended for parking?
if it was your works parking lot (private lot, not public like side of a main road) you are better off going for your works insurance policy. it happened on THERE lot. thats what his insurance company will say. (i know it suks but that's insurance people for ya). and the news gets worse because by your admission
problem was i was technically not legally parked... I had parked at the end of the lot in the "cuttaway".
they could deny this claim also. and the really bad part...... please dont hate me i'm jus the messenger. they could blame you for all this, and you could be liable :(. for making an unsafe enviroment.
and if my wife is correct the officer filled out a report of damage but did not charge anyone correct??? because in their eyes they jus let the insurance companies fight it out.
lemme know how it goes. if it was me i would do the" i'd rather not get all the insurance companies involved gimme $500.00 bucks and we call it even" deal and get away from it all. and don't be such a nice guy next time.
