Help. Can't get any oil out of my motorcycle Yamaha Maxim

#1 Unread post by WesBrightman »

I recently bought my first motorcyle, a Yamaha Maxim 550 1982 model. I rode it from Michigan to DC without really testing it. It started spurting oil out the back after about an hour. I just kept pouring oil in it hoping it wouldn't break down. 700 miles later when I got to DC I went to change the oil by removing the plug underneath the engine and NOTHING came out. I poured a lot more oil in it (2 liters) and still no oil came out. I stuck a screwdriver up there to see if there was a block and I couldn't identify a problem. Right now my engine has way to much oil in it and I can't get it out. Does anybody have any ideas (once you have stopped laughing)?

Thanks

it shouldnt be a plug on the bottom it should be front and toward the right side......and there should be a filter also...check that....

Where in DC? I'm in falls church and could have a look at it for you if you can't figure it out.

I told a friend that I had an oil blockage in my engine and she suggested I put maggots in their cause they can eat through anything. I am scared that if I put maggots in hot oil I will end up with some Southern cooking!

I live in Arlington near the Pentagon. I am going to give it one more try this weekend to see if I can figure it out. If I can't do it then I will take you up on your offer.

Thanks a lot
