I've never owned an HJC but if you plan on riding during the day and don't want to change your visor to something tinted you should consider the model with the flip down sunglasses. Those are good multipurpose.

I have a good pair of aviators. Is it advisable to wear sunglasses under a helmet?

It can be a pain to get them on under a helmet and it can hurt to have them pressed against your skull for so long. I'm sure this depends on the lid and the glasses. It worked fine on my old fulmer, I can't get a pair on under my scorpion though.

Also not to mention if your sunglasses are polarized your faceshield is UV coated. This will make lots of things blink or look like a rainbow to you. I know it sounds weird but many people have complained about this.

It happend to me when I put my sunglasses on underneath my visor, makes everything weird.

FS-10. My wife and I bought them as early Christmas presents - quality is OK considering they're HJC's and come at HJC prices.

I just had an experience that drives home the idea of starting off small.

Nothing happened but there is a speed bump next to my house, the large, wide, sloping kind. I'm going fifteen miles per hour in fourth gear in my '99 Jetta 2.0 and as soon as I hit this hump the car goes completely side-ways. (Did I mention that it's sleeting today?) Now this drives home the point of getting a beginner bike, I have a great amount a car driving experience for a 17 year-old; I've driven a '06 GTO in the snow, drifted an Evo VIII down an exit ramp and even have driven a Hennessey Venom 800TT. (Basicaly a Twin-Turbo'd dodge Viper with 833 Horses) I've done more but you get my point: It was reflex how I reacted. I simply eased of the gas and counter-steered the appropriate amount (no plowing from me thanks). Again all reflex, any situation on a bike that would have required a prompt controlled reaction I couldn't of done: I simply don't have enough experience riding bikes.

I have a Year and a half or so of driving under my belt. Not a lot, but better than zero. Bikes? I've driven a '99 Suzuki Hayabusa Ten miles.

power why in the hell were you in 4rth gear doing 15mph? Even if it is sleeting you risk a huge chance of not recovering from any sort of "oops" or "slip" causing you to do a few 360s etc etc. Heck I use the transmission on my van to slow me down in winter as much as possible. Though I learned going from 3rd to 1rst in 0 seconds flat disables the ABS breaks lol.
