Retro standards?

I really like the Scrambler, that's also on my list if I can ever convince my wife to park outside to make room for a few more bikes.

If she won't you COULD always sell me the Duck. I love that bike.... Is that stock paint on the Bonny with an aftermarket tail-locker on the back?

I've said it before but you have great taste in bikes.

It's the original saphire blue paint with a Corbin Smuggler seat. Corbin do a great job, the paint and hand painted pin striping match the original perfectly.

I'm vaguely musing about getting one, but can't think of many options off the top of my head.

HD Sportster (well, some models are more like standards)
Bonneville
The fairly unaffordable Ducati Sport Classics (especially the GT).
W650. Any other Japanese options? (even cruisers with fairly standard riding positions?)

Along the lines of a Sportster is the Suzuki S-series Boulevards. S40, S50, and S83.

If anyone's interested the april issue of Mototcycle Cruiser, currently on sale, has an article about the GT1000 and Scrambler, not really a comparison but a good read. I guess they're both standards but IMO two totally different (but great) bikes.

Of my retros, well the CB750 is not really a retro, I prefer the Honda, Ducati, and Triumph in that order but enjoy them all.

Whoah, now that is one fine set of bikes you've got. Why didn't you include the Ural as a retro standard (adventure touring, dual sport, hack)?

Just a bit outside the box perhaps, but if you look at the rider, in this case a female rider, you can see that this machine qualifies as a standard. No longer in production, but lots of choice used units available. Ride one of these and you will see why they have an enthusiastic group of owners.
