Our gas here Monday $2.96 Wed. $3.15 Thu. $3.19 Fri. $3.23 and this is for cheap no name regular (85 oct) Same time period crude went from $109 down to $100 a barrel.

Do what I do when I fill up, bring vasoline when you get gasoline........and demand a kiss from the pump jockey or person at the till before and after you fill up.

For all the griping that people do about the high cost of gas, I don't see a slowing trend in traffic.
People are still driving too aggressively and far too fast. They would save a lot on gas $$$ if they would go easy on the accelerator and slow down to close to the speed limit.

lol I hear that all the time. "Man with gas prices so high I cant believe you still drive 65 in a 55." I just say "I get 60mpg does it look like I really care about gas prices?" Course I say the same thing in my mini van and I only get 23mpg hehe. However, like I mentioned above, I do realize that ALOT of business's and people depend heavily on gas and adding 50cents to gallon for tax is going to just bring alot of people and business's to their knees especially when it hits $4/gallon. I also only have a 12 mile commute to work whereas alot of people have way more than I do.

Looks like gas prices aren't the only problem here in NYC. There's a good chance the council will vote for the Congestion pricing scheme where they charge money for cars entering certain parts of Manhattan at certain times in the day.

The problem is that it seems motorcycles are not exempt despite the fact that we don't cause congestion and use much less gas. Public transit is way too crowded and is very inefficient lately so I would want to use the bike on a good days this spring and summer.

Doubtful. I have yet to see any marked decrease in commuter traffic even with the high price of fuel. Nothing like sitting on ramp of Highway 17 and Highway 99 trying to merge into traffic to go thru the tube. Usually surrounded by big arsed SUV's, tricked up pick ups and other fuel guzzlers all carrying just one person.

My commute is only 18 kilometres each way, but sometimes it take a good 45 minutes to do it when in the cage. On the bike I can use the HOV lane and make the trip in 20 minutes at the most.

It will be interesting to see if there is a decrease in mobile homes and fifth wheel camper traffic this year during the summer long weekends and holiday season.

I wish the price of gas would encourage motorists to slow down. The speed demons would get better mileage if they slowed down.
