#1 Unread post by Albe »

I have an 04 Suzuki SV1000s and it's dropping a small amount of oil from the crank case oil breather hose after a ride, any tips on stopping this or why it's occurring??

Two questions

1.) How full is your crankcase with oil? In the middle of the window? Higher? Remember look when the bike is upright

2.) Do you spend much time at high RPMs?

Thanks for the reply,
I've checked the oil level and it's in-between the full and low level marks, I ride around the mid range of the rev's poss cranking to 8-9000 rpm on occasions.
I was thinking of dropping the oil and refilling with RedLine 10-40 as I'm not sure what the shop put in there (piror to purchase through private party) poss mineral.
I've placed a pill bottle on the end of the hose to capture any drips untill I sort it.
Is there any adjustment / tweaking of oil presure / return valve, also wondering whether it the crank could be pressurising slightly, the bike done 18000k's and runs tight.
