Removing a shaft-driven wheel

#1 Unread post by jacklott »

Flat tire on a suzuki EV800 with shaft drive. Do I just remove the axel, swing the brake plate aside, move the wheel to the right, and pull it out?

Pretty much. There's a spacer on the axle that holds it tight to the shaft assembly, Once the axle and that spacer is removed, it's a cinch to drop the wheel.

The most important step is lubing the splines when you put the wheel back on. Forget this step and you're setting yourself up for some expensive repairs
