Honestly, the more expensive ones weigh less, and are probably quieter. They might have handy features like quick change visors etc, but as long as it's Snell/Dot rated and a full-face (personal opinion) I'd say go for it. Make sure that it fits comfortably, that's the number one issue.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

so i was doing well over the speed limit last night...*dont try this at home*... when my visor started pushing hard against my nose...this has never happend before...but this is the fastest i had evergone...

a. im sure my helmet should not be doing this...

b. does this mean its not fitting properly?

c. or is it because its an $80 helmet?

Sounds like the helmet is too loose.

I got a pretty big shnoze but I've never had my helmet come back that far.
No Witnesses.... :shifty:

i get a massive hot spot on my forehead after 3 hours of good riding...so im definatly in the market for a new helmet...im gonna try and get one cheap at all these shows coming up...i tried an icon helmet on it seemed comfy...i have a long head front to back...is there a brand that builds them that way??

i almost bought one off the internet without ever trying on anything lol.....

www.motorcyclegearreview.com might be of help if you want to know the quality/noise/fogging issues helmets have.

Comfort is a biggy -- in particular, I am always willing to pay more for a helmet that will offer me more ventilation.
