That's when I would've given them something to think about, like a nice fine line across their car compliments of my keys, or something like that.Tower18CHI wrote:Nothing serious for me, but one time I was parked on the street, and someone apparently wanted that space. I walked back out to find my bike up over the curb, in the grass, leaning against a streetlight, steering lock still locked. There must have been 2-3 of them, because there were no curb cuts in the area, so they had to have picked it up.

depending on how long they were gone how can you prove that they were the ones who moved your bike? Very ignorant of you to just "do because you assume" instead of knowing for sure they were the ones who did it.Dystopian wrote:That's when I would've given them something to think about, like a nice fine line across their car compliments of my keys, or something like that.Tower18CHI wrote:Nothing serious for me, but one time I was parked on the street, and someone apparently wanted that space. I dont use one, but....
The motion alarms, seem to be quite popular here.
They produce some kind of field around your bike, not a large field, but if some one was to attempt to touch it, the alarm would fire before they got their grubby little fingers actually on it...these alarms also get really excited if the bike is actually touched or an attempt is made to move it, also...these alarms will send a message to your cell phone indicating that the alarm ahs been activated.
One of my buds at work has one, cost him a few hundred + installation but he is insanely happy with it.
If you would like any details i can make some inquiries as to brand and model numbers.

Am I the only one who sees a harley joke here?slimcolo wrote:In the early 70s a friend of my Dad's had a HD Dresser stolen.
The thieves cut the chain (I think they used a torch) Then moved the other three bikes about 10 feet each. Then rolled away bike. We were able to follow oil trail about 2-1/2 blocks t

I'm with shane. If it's right outside the office get a m/c alarm that picks up motion over the bike. There's a cheap one on sale at jc whitney down from $120 to $50 that I saw earlier this week. It also sends a page to the keychain if you're within a mile.
Thanks, Shane. No worries, though. Don't go out of your way. I'll research them as I get closer to actually purchasing a bike.shane-o wrote: If you would like any details i can make some inquiries as to brand and model numbers.
