HCI Helmet Recall

#1 Unread post by motofan »

OK, I should have known not to buy a helmet on Ebay for $30.
Now I want everyone to know to stay away from Ebay helmets. Don't buy form this Jafrum leather NY guy because he sells these crappy HCI helmets that get recalled:

Motorcycle Helmet Recall
WFMY News 2 - wfmy.com

Helmet City is recalling 36,800 motorcycle helmets because of the ear flap.

Washington, DC -- Helmet City (HCI) is recalling all sizes of the motorcycle helmet, models #100 and #100G manufactured between October 1, 2004 and April 29, 2005.

These helmets fail the retention requirements of a federal motor vehicle safety standard. The stitching on the right side ear flap is not sufficient.

In the event of a crash, the ear flap can rip, leaving the wearer unprotect, possibly resulting in head injuries.

HCI will notify its customers and repair the helmets by adding additional stitching. The recall notification is expected to begin in July 2005.

Consumers can contact HCI a (888-550-3731) for a free repair.

It's a manufacturer fault, not the seller's fault - besides, it does say that HCI will provide a free repair...
Don't give up.

Not now, not soon, not after being continually knocked down.

If you never give up, you can never truly fail.
