Sen. Everett Dirksen. But the quote is only attributed, not sourced. Apparently Dirksen himself was aware of the misattribution and liked the saying, so he let the matter be.

She hasn't logged in since at least Dec. 2 - I PM'd her then, and the message is still sitting in my outbox. I assume she's OK, as of this morning her account is active on one of the gun forums she hangs out at... maybe she just decided that without motorcycles, there was no point in hanging out at a motorcycle forum?

I wish she hadn't cleared this blog out though, it was quite an inspiring story.

It's really too bad she did, it was a great blog she wrote. I wish she kept it for future readers.

Guess I'll have to remove this empty blog then in a few days...

Maybe she plans to collate it into a story elsewhere (her own site, or a book?), it took her almost an hour and a half to delete all her posts, that's a lot of effort if you are just taking a break ... anyway hope she's ok, it was indeed an inspirational blog.

I messaged her a couple days ago on another site. She is doing fine. We didn't talk specifics, but I get the impression that she's pretty much done with this forum. She did say that her blog will be put back on the internet in the future however.
