Is "More Proficient Motorcycling" worth getting?

I have a real fondness for David Hough's Proficient Motorcycling. It was the first motorcycle book I ever bought (even before I took classes or bought my bike). I still read it occasionally.

I've skimmed through More Proficient Motorcycling at the bookstores, and have been wondering if it's a good buy? A lot of information seems just rewritten from Proficient Motorcycling. Or will a more thorough read of it reveal a lot of jems? Those who've got a copy (especially those who've got both books), watcha think?

Yep. it has some great pieces and the reiterations are great when you've lent out your copy of proficient motorcycling.

But, I believe the updated second edition of proficient motorcycling contains the content from both books. I don't know. I only have the second edition of the book.

I have both the Proficient Motorcycling and More Proficient Motorcycling books. Despite having learned how to ride I still found quite a bit more info on refining my riding technique in which I still use to practice to this day. These books help you learn from others mistakes so you can be one less statistic.


Another good book to get along with these two is Total Control which focuses on high performance riding and how it can be used on the streets.

Personally, I loved the first one (and used it to help me teach myself to ride in the 8 weeks it took me to get into the BRC). But I didn't find the "More" one nearly as useful

I have both books and both are good books to read. The first one is probably more useful for general information, while the second one goes into more specific situations. (The first does that too, but it also includes the general information)
