I use Maxima Chain Wax Gold. Works well, smells great and even with my hard riding a regular clean and lube gave me over 35k miles on my last chain. Anyone else come close? I wasn't at the end of the adjustments yet either, just hated the noise

35,000 miles is way more than what I get out of my chains. I still get more mileage than other 599 owners but compared to other bikes my 20,000 miles is a bit low.

This chain and sprocket set I'm trying the bare minimum of cleaning and lubing just to see if it makes a difference. 12,000 miles and counting!

Since WD40 is kerosene based you should not use it on any rubber or vinyl. Avoid the chain, tires, cables and the instrument panel

kerosene is like a motorcycling standard... I think you're confusing kerosene with petrol based products which would be the old formula of WD-40

How do you know if you have an o-ring chain? Does my Vulcan 500 have one?
