Gieco, Progressive, Allstate, Other.

i was shopping around. and i think i messed something up on progressives site cause the total annual dollar amount was amost as much as my bike depreciated lol. and i did gieco and they were veryyyyy cheap and affordable. but im pretty sure i heard bad things about them. then again my mechanic whom im cool with has some certification with them so maybe thats an advantage. idk.. y dont u tell me.

ICBC......and ICBC.....

Up side, government run,
Down side: government run
Up side: everyone who is legal can get insured
Down side: everyone who is legal can get insured
Up side: one stop shopping
Down side: one stop only shopping

As bad as dealing with ICBC can be, I find it better then dealing with a whole slew of private insurers.
Always ask why.

If your bike is a sportbike, and your young, you probably didn't make a mistake. When I was 20, I quoted a VFR when I was gonna get my second bike and it was like $4500 a year. However, my shadow is only $700 a year, and I've loved their service. Two years ago someone dropped my bike outside the house and ruined the whole right side. Progressive made it very easy, covered all the expenses (even paid for better floorboards than I had). When it cost more than the original amount, they sent another check for the difference, no questions asked. Finally the shop wouldn't take the check because their name wasn't on it, so progressive wrote me a new one and I picked it up same day and got my bike. Best part was that after a $2600 claim, my premium still went down by nearly $200 the next year. Just my experience, they took care of me and made it easy to get my bike back on the road.

i started with progressive for bike insurance because they have a special deal with USAA since USAA doesn't handle motorcycles, only cars. after a week of not being able to log onto their website due to "technical difficulties" to add my madura, i called them on the phone to cancel while i was paying the full year premium for my new geico insurance.

great company or not, if i can't update my policy as my insurance needs change, they're pretty well useless to me.

Currently waiting on a new hip before I can get a new bike.

Online portals don't always work, but progressive is willing to help you 24/7 over the phone.

I have six motorcycles insured with Progressive with the lowest insured still having comprehensive coverage and a max payout of $300k per event. Each bike is on a separate policy (advantage with Va insurance laws) and I pay just about $750.

Geico wanted over $2k for my V-strom alone with liability coverage alone.

I've heard the story the exact opposite way too. I'm not sure what black magic insurance company computers use with their computing algorithms but I'd call around to a few before paying out.

Rider Insurance Company...private insurer with policies in NJ, PA and OH. I hear some bad things about them and some good things. I've never had any problems with them. Progressive quoted me $1,300 a year for the v-rod. Rider insures it for $550. The XL is insured for $325. I have full coverage for both bieks, multiple bike discount and renewal discounts built in. Rider also covers accessories and riding gear in the event of a crash. The USAA affiliation did very little for me at Progressive unfortunately.

I have 4 with Progressive and they do not give multi vehicle discounts even though they advertise it continually. At least not for motorcycles.
Oh I've complained but nada.
I stay with them because of the included free 24-7 roadside assistance.
Ever since I once ran out of gas in a Sugar Cane field in Florida. (GPS covered the gas gauge) For those who don't know that's always 20-30 miles from no-where.
