In fact, this is even more significant since it is a SPORTBIKE that he felt was more comfortable than his Harley. Certainly a departure from the norm, but it still proves my point: Comfort is based on individual perception.

Yep. You did state that. However you then pulled a 180 and proceeded to compare sportbikes to cruisers. Different sitting position, different suspension types etc. Do you see the difference in between your comparison and one of mine comparing a sportster to a Suzuki intruder?

A lot of people don't realize that.

They won 7 as the Soviet Union(Pre-breakup USSR) and 1 as the Unified Team(one year after the breakup), but NONE as Russia.

The only thing I said after that where I mentioned a sportbike and a cruiser (Harley) was followed up by this statement "Certainly a departure from the norm, but it still proves my point: Comfort is based on individual perception."

That was NOT a comparison. That was a reiteration of what I said earlier. A reiteration is NOT a 180. All I did was say it a little different.

That is certainly true for the big Glides but not true for other HD models.

I stand by my statement in an apples to apples comparison.

softtail to a V-star or Shadow
Sportster to an Intruder/S50
Hardtails are hard tails though no matter what you do about it.

Either way Harley packs a higher quality suspension, higher quality brakes, plusher seat and a higher capacity alternator.

I don't see a Softail being more comfortable than a V-Star or Shadow, or Sportster over an Intruder. It could be, but that's subjective. Depends on the rider.

As for Hardtails, that's irrelevant as Harley no longer makes them.

The two Harleys you mentioned, certainly do not have high quality suspension. In fact they come with POS shocks, albeit an innovative one on the Softail...

Very questionable on the brakes but I won't argue on that one as I don't have enough saddle time using the brakes hard on cruisers to comment intelligently.

I would call the seats on them a draw.

I agree on the alternators being more powerful on the Harleys.
