the R850 R was that I do the wrenching myself. I also found out the fuel filter resides in the tank. I have done everything else, Plugs, oil, filter, which you have to buy a special tool for as it sits inside the casing, brakes, new tyres, valves, final drive lube. All except that fuel filter which terrifies me.
Funny you just posted this as I just did my fuel filter today. It's definitely a pain in the

but it's not really that difficult. It just requires removing a ton of dodo to get to the stupid thing. If you are mechanically inclined enough to adjust your valves, you are more than qualified to do this job. I did have a SNAFU today however. One of the infamous plastic POS fuel line quick disconnects cracked when I was removing it.

So I rode the CBR to the BMW dealer about an hour away. What a rip off they are(the quick disconnects, not the dealer). I bought two(one for a spare) and they were about $60 each. Even the parts guy commented on what a rip off they are.

I did notice however that the part that broke on mine is now made of metal instead of plastic.

Got home put everything back together and took it for a ride. Thank goodness I won't have to do this for another 24K miles.
