Goldwing Cafe Racer?? (w/Pics!)

#1 Unread post by jaskc78 »

Yeah, that's right. There's a guy in Glendale that takes old GLs and turns them into Cafe Racers. Clicky link with a couple pictures. Went and looked at that bike yesterday and saw some of the others he's currently working on. Next up is a black one with red seat that says "Habeus Corpus" on the tank. I already told him that I want it so he's just going to call me when it's ready. There was also a black one with white seat that says "Behind Bars" and a flat military green one with black seat that says "Disorderly Conduct." I rode the tan one around the block, they're pretty quick and actually very comfortable because of the more upright sitting position with the handlebars vs the clip-ons you generally find on true racers. I can't wait, it's gonna be so much fun riding that around town.

Yeah, Wrider. He woulda been right in your back yard when you were at MMI. One of the bikes he's working on now he bought from a guy going to MMI, actually. I'll get some higher quality pics when I pick mine up and post them.

And that black one you posted in absolutely awesome, Dean. I might just have to start tinkering with the one I'm buying.

Probably but I love the look for my sidecar rig. A rig that steers might find them better than one that countersteers.

They look similar to the tire my uncle runs on his flat trackers. Don't know what they are though.

Here's some pics of the bike I'm buying. He got it back and was looking it over and there's a small leak coming from the timing chain cover so he's gonna get that fixed this week and I should be picking it up next weekend. Enjoy the pics.
