headlamp removal
How do you remove the headlamp on a 1982 Honda Goldwing Aspeneate 1100 cc so I can change the element?

Re: headlamp removal
You have to take off your whole front cowling. Takes a while but not that hard, just make sure to be careful and get every bolt.
Your second step is being thankful you don't have a Goldwing 1500. That's a 17 hour flat rate job!!!

Re: headlamp removal
Just checking--I have directions for a 1983 model, and those directions are quite different. it says to just remove the adjustment knob and push on the shaft and the headlamp will come out. I just want to make sure before I start and don't want to do anything I don't have to do. Thanks

allen32,
I would order a new or used Clymer manual for you bike, that will tell you the differences in the models (year to year) and have illustrated pictures too of what to do. I've always bought a Clymer (or Hayes) manual for all the bikes I've owned as they are just so useful.

Re: headlamp removal
'82 and the '83 are both the GL1100 series and are the same. Those had the round headlights with the H4 bulbs. I know that they didn't change to the flushmounted healighted GL1200 until '84(I used to have a '86). I do believe the round headlighted GL1100 do pop out once you remove the adjustment knob, spring, and the nut.allen32 wrote:Just checking--I have directions for a 1983 model, and those directions are quite different. it says to just remove the adjustment knob and push on the shaft and the headlamp will come out.
