Where to begin?

#1 Unread post by Nibblet99 »

How about a where to begin guide?

with step by step links ranging from step 1: why ride a motorcycle, with maybe a link to blogs,

through to your local countries route to a license : eg http://www.dsa.gov.uk/Bikes.asp for the uk

And onwards to good places to gather riding tips (new riders forum, and similar), and other such things, as the helmet fit guidelines (Thanks lion lady for the incredibly useful post)

Maybe even going as far as to buying your first bike (making sure it's comfortable to you, and what to look for in a used bike)

It seems a lot of people want to ride, but don't know where to start. If you write a basic checklist, I think it would help people greatly

It doesn't have to be long, it just needs to point people to where they can both recognise and fill the gaps in their knowledge

I think you are talking about the

Total Motorcycle Beginner's Guide to Motorcycling?

http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/school.htm

I have added links there to the different forums as it was a great idea!
