Poll: Do you think new (year) models come out too early?
It seems each year manufacturers rush to beat each other to release the newest (next years) models as early as possible. This year it was a 2012 model realeased in the summer of 2010 when few 2011's were out yet.
Do you think they release the "new year" a little too early? Should they date the bike the same year it somes out? What do you think?

Yes, we're barely into 2011 and the 2012's are being introduced. Stores still 2009, 2010's to sell.....and all the new ones for 2011.....we can't keep up.
I think the 2012 models should be introduced later in 2011.

I would agree with you, the new models do come out a little too early. It is "fine" in a boom time, but when you hit a recession, then the dealers just can't move as many models so they start stacking up and bringing out the 2012's (and so on) just makes it worse.
There was a 2012 out last year in fact when they brought out the 2010's. I've never seen that before.

Re: Poll: Do you think new (year) models come out too early?
I agree the whole motor industry is out a little early. I think a month, maybe two should be about right. Otherwise 1. Dealers stack up too much inventory, 2. People like an acquaintance freak out when their vehicle is no longer the latest thing in vogue, and 3. Stuff like the 2011 Kawi ZX-10 happens. Have you seen a 2011 ZX-10 on the roads? Nope, because something is so terribly wrong with them they ordered the dealers to box them back up, picked them up, and sent them all back to the factory... The only thing that could do something of that magnitude is something wrong with the frame/internal parts of the engine.
