Billy Joel's 35th bike

#1 Unread post by Hondagirl »

He just had double hip replacement and turned 60 and still sings and plays piano like nobody can. This is his 35th -custom made - bike, kinda interesting looking bike. What do you think?

It's tasteful. I wouldn't mind one actually.

The W650 is a great platform to start with. That bike is better looking IMO than the new Bonneville and the engine is much more retro looking.

That's a great looking bike, I am partial to the W650 over the Bonneville also, although I like both.

I hope when I am 60 I have 35 motorcycles, especially since I can't sing or play the piano.

Looks great! And at least it isn't another chrome-overloaded OCC-a-like "chopper".

That is a great looking custom bike. It is always nice to see "Custom" being "different".

"I was hoping to build a true classic Bobber like the tough but elegant, streamlined machines I remember seeing back in the 1950s and ’60s – before the whole “look how bad I am” ‘chopper’ craze took over. "
Mr. Joel said that the bike, one of 35 he owns, will be regularly ridden “out on the east end of Long Island where there’s plenty of twisty back roads, beautiful natural scenery and picturesque fishing villages.”

It's nice to know that he is a real motorcyclist who enjoys riding and knows what a true bobber custom is supposed to be; and not one of them non-rider POS poser wanna-be losers that buys those stupid choppers that no human being actually looks good on it.

I like him even more now. :kicking:
