People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Today (well, as close as today as it was yesterday) I flew 5000 miles from London, UK to Vancouver, BC for my wife (Sunshine229)'s grandma's funeral.

My condolences.

All my grandparents passed away while I was very young and I find it amazing to visit friends who actually have a get-together with three generations of family under one roof.

It is wonderful that you were able to visit and pay your respects.

I helped out with photo-retouching a sunset. (I did this for my Graphic Design career of 15 years before TMW).

Holy cow that is impressive. I do graphic design on the side, but mostly print/layout design, the most advanced graphic stuff I have really done is turning dead grass green- color is simple, making things disappear and look natural is another! Nicely done!

Rode into another motorcycle shop today to look around. Found a second pair of boots I liked. Debating between the Joe Rocket Super Street Boots and Alpinestar Ridge Waterproof. Though I really want to order a pair of the Joe Rocket Velocity shoes, but I am the pickiest shoe guy ever I would hate to order a pair without trying them first (returning always costs money online!).

Spent a long time there and still could not bring myself to spend any money. It is largely the lack of money, and good job (still career hunting, and down to 12 or so hours a week at Papa John's :x) and also the uncertainty. I bought the bike knowing if I get a job across the country and have to sell the bike, I could, easily. That's one thing. Getting stuck with a couple hundred dollars worth of gear that may not come in handy for a while would be another!

Really should take the plunge and get some boots and gloves though. Everywhere else I feel like I am meeting a reasonable minimum for safety, but for those two areas. The other advantage is those will last forever. Still hoping to drop some weight, so even harder to convince myself to shell out for a jacket or pants!

That was about it, got my first taste of riding in "real rain," not really hard Seattle rain, but more than a drizzle. Wasn't bad, got out of it quick enough that the freeway speeds got me dried out pretty much before getting home. If weather and time cooperate tomorrow I may ride into the one other big motorcycle shop and see if I cannot make some progress on the glove/boot front, though I have actually shopped both there before and doubt I will make any progress!
