Young ambition

Got talking to a young guy this morning whilst we were both outside for some "fresh air". We were both wearing bike jackets (still nippy at 0600hrs) & the chat soon turned to bikes. Turned out he had just recently passed CBT & got on the road with a cheap chinese 125.

Now to be honest I might well have given up the chat there & then but he happened to say it was his last shift as a nursing assistant. Politely I asked if he had a new job to go to (thinking he had given up on healthcare)!


Turns out he is starting with the ambulance service with the ultimate ambition of being a first responder bike paramedic! Passing his CBT had given him the thrill & confidence to take his first step on an exciting & honourable career!

Together with a beautiful sunrise it fair lifted my spirits to meet a young lad with such a positive outlook.

Just wondered if anyone else has a recent uplift from a young biker?

Great story! Thanks for sharing it, it is a very special moment indeed.

I always get an uplift from fellow bikers when I see they are pulled over to help another biker in trouble. It's the part of motorcycling that is really special, the community. If I see a bike on the side of the road stopped (and I can see they are either lost or in trouble) I make it a point to ALWAYS turn off or turn around and go back to help them out... no matter if I'm on my bike or in a car, if they are in need I'm there to help.

Wow, great story! Isn't that incredible, meeting someone who is aspiring to be a biker paramedic. We watch the show about paramedic bikers on the telly and love it. It would be a really cool job!
