The Suzuki Intruder 800 has been around for many years, lots of parts out there for them and strong, reliable engines. How do you find it vs the Suzuki Burgman scooter (400? 650?) you had?

bought the suzuki burman 400 back in 2005 new. it was a good ride to learn the basics on, decided to buy the intruder, move up to a manual transmission. the bike was at the same dealer i bought the burgie at, just out window shopping, and went for it! the bike is in good shape for its age, only 8000 miles on it. and reasonally priced. so i didnt have to finace alot of cash.

Sounds great! I bet the dealer gave you a little further discount for "loyality" as well, or they should have. Repeat business is so important these days and repeat motorcycling business is gold.
8000 miles for a 2005 is great, you'll have a nice bike that's "new" without paying the new price. How are you finding the change between scooter and bike and auto vs manual clutch?

the intruder is a 95 not a 05 however runs well so far. i have 17000 on the burgie scooter im trying to teach my 17 yr old daughter to ride it. so i still putt around aliitle on it as well. the manual aspect is going ok, just learning to wind out the gears alittle to get the feel when to shift.

Welcome
Have fun and be safe on you're Intruder(and the burgman), the shifting will get easier and easier.

Bienvenido and welcome! You said you have a daughter that is learning to ride? Hmmm.
Just kidding. Nice bike though, and for that mileage you can't beat it! What kind of mods does it have if any?
Do you plan on modifying it?
