Wife was in an accident Monday (she is fine) because some douche bag couldnt wait in the turning lane for her to pass (had someone been in that sunfires passenger side they probably would have been dead). So now I put the van on craigslist as parting out because well there is no point in fixing it as the time and part cost would be more than the vehicle is worth. Then Tues I picked up my take home final for class and now today I think im gonna start taking small things off the van and posting them on ebay (things like control knobs).
Sorry to hear about your wife's accident, glad to hear she is fine. Good idea parting out the van. I imagine it's a write-off, didn't the insurance adjusters offer enough for the van? Our 1988 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 was backed into and was a write off, they offered us $2600 at the time for it and we held firm insisting it was worth more, we ended up with $3200.

Had a ride out with my rocket man to the beautiful Isle of Purbeck to visit with daughter 1.
She is working at a bar for the summer which just happens to overlook some of the most stunning scenery on England's southcoast. It was a bit too hazy for photos today but if you are interested look up Lulworth Cove + DurdleDoor ~ Dorset Jurassic Coast ~ World Heritage Site. :boat:

I lived out there for 10yrs & loved it but got a bit stir crazy so moved back to town.
Its only about 30 miles tho so pop back a lot especially over the summer. :sunshine:

Woke up and read a bunch of the second of the Codex Alera series, love it! Rode a ways into Auburn to pick up my new riding jacket, got back, decided I did not have enough time to do the chain (lube and wax way overdue). Ran to work for a couple hours, got home and went for a nice ride, despite the high 30-degree weather to warm up the chain, and did my first clean and wax. I am sure I overdid the wax, but I figure better to overdo than, well, underdo?

Witnessed the aftermath of a couple of people running from the cops. Both seem to be ok according to local news.
Also heard about a local street racing crash in which an Army MP driving a Viper managed to lose control and spin.
Ahhhh springtime in Colorado Springs...

Found an interesting 1982 vintage bike which has been basically sitting since 1986(!) --- owner too (something) to ride it... i dont yet know the bizarre emotional attachment a person has to a friggin bike to keep it store/parked for like what, 25 years???.... crikey! i mean jeeesh... he's the original owner, but it's bike not a son or daughter -- that's 29 years old now?????? nuts. but it sure looks nice...

hmmm... it's neat and has me totally sidetracked from my motocross bike search now... hhmmmmmm.hmmmmmmmmhmmmmmmm....hmmmmmmm... what-to-do-what to dooo....

ah well.. i'm no collector, and i'll probably hit the road in another year or two again and then have to sell it cheap just to dump it, or store it with the rest of my "stuff"

and no, Mike, it's not your beloved 1982 Yamaha XJ650RJ... if i spot one you'll be the first to know.
