Killed two more sun spiders tonight, after killing about 8 last night. Got a big one tonight, though. Sprayed it with Raid and it ran around the other side of the lamp post, the gf saw it from about 10 feet away and all I heard was her screaming some phrases I won't repeat here and then the front door opening and closing.

I did get a pic of the big one tonight, I'll try to get it uploaded to show you guys what I'm talking about. Think camel spider but only about 3" leg span.

There he is, I tossed the cigarette butt down next to him for size reference. If you look close, you can see his actual leg tucked in behind that big front "leg" that's actually a pincher like a crab claw. Very nasty if they get hold of some exposed skin. He's soaking in the puddle of Raid I sprayed him with, they have a tendency to get back up and go hide if you don't really douse them good enough. I think the Raid doesn't actually hurt them, but the fumes prevent them from getting oxygen and that's what eventually kills them. Either way, it takes a good soaking unless you've got some decent shoes on (was wearing flip-flops at the time the picture was taken). That's my usual method, hit them with enough Raid to slow them down and then stomp them into oblivion. Him being tucked up against the lamp post and me wearing open footwear meant he got to take a bath.

Birthday dinner was steak (medium rare sirloin), huge baked potato and veggies and of course, a rare Rolling Rock beer. :D

Ice cream for desert next!!

Mike

Gonna have to try a ribeye for your next steak, I don't think there's a much better cut for BBQing...

PS: A Happy belated to both you and ceemes...

Happy Birthday to Ceemes as well!! :D

Ribeye is my #2 fav steak, but it's hard to get good steak here in the UK. The one I had was actually pretty good (the best I had in the UK thus far). T-Bone is my #1 fav. :D

Yup, BTDT. Four out of four motorcycles in this household are chain-drive! GoJo soap with pumice is very good for getting the mess off your hands. Comes in a nice orange-scented liquid form too.

A properly done lube job requires no mess.

Thanks Jaskc... I DID NOT look at the photo (Mike tried to make me, but I resisted) but after reading even just a few words of your posts I am going to have nightmares!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a British house spider on our stairs just a few months ago. I went to walk up the stairs, saw it sitting there and I fell backwards down the stairs, screaming blue murder! It was about 4" all around... you can google it if you like but I can't do it myself!!! Mike was going to hit it with a shoe and thought... hmm... maybe I need the boot for this one!

Anyways, enough about creepy things....

Today I went back to work after a week in Greece and being off sick for 2 days. And yes, I seriously was sick not just "sick of the holiday ending"!!!!

I spent the first half of the day waiting for a brown truck to show up. Took my time putting a new Barnett clutch in the CBR it still took under an hour. I just got back from about 50 miles worth of test drive. Since I bought the poor thing its never had much friction zone. The bike has been go or no go but I havent been able to get any slip till a trip to port deposit about two weeks ago. This thing is so smooth now. I just wish it would quit raining so I could go ride now.

Clean and lube. Yeah, just spraying on chain lube is hands off. Cleaning the chain will get your fingers dirty unless you're wearing gloves.
