:welcome2: Rob to the Total Motorcycle community!

I think many in the TMW community will be interested in tricking out their dirt bikes and learning from your knowledge.

Have fun in the forums!

Hello everyone,

I am a new rider and decided to come here and see if anyone out there has gone through some of my new rider experiances/fears. I took the rider's edge course and passed 4-4-2011 :) Got on my bike (a lot different than the buell) and practiced around my neighborhood for a few weeks, dropped it from looking down and going to slow out of a stop, got back on once after scared half to death. I then called Harley back and asked to go back on the range (to built confidence back up) in which I just got out of day 1 today. My bike is sitting in the garage now waiting for me and I can't decide to take it out right now  My better half isn't home and I am petrified of getting it back up the drive into the garage  Any advice for the newbie? Thanks for having me BTW  T

Hi Tammy, I took the MSF beginner course in April also, so I'm not much more experienced than you. The one thing that jumps out at me is that you're on a big bike compared to mine... maybe a smaller bike to start with would be just what you need to build that confidence back up.

Best of luck!

Tammy, head on over to the ladies lounge... There's a lot of help there, and the women on this board are full of great help for newbies. There is more than one instructor in that group...

Thanks Zee and Dr Bar:) With in a few days of posting this I jumped on my bike, rode very well through my neighborhood, Up my driveway and back down twice... While waiting on my better half to check out the path to the nearest school (pratice u-tuens and figure 8's) I backed out of the drive into the street, kicked the kickstand down and forgot to check to make sure it was down...and BAM...I fell over, this time hurting my foot pretty bad:( good news is I felt comfortable riding, stopping and finally found the friction zone...woo hoo
As soon as my foot is better I am ready to practice on my own!
