Saddleman VS> Corbin

I need to get a seat for my NEW to me 84 magna. I don't even have a useable pan so rather than going for a used seat and recovering it I have decided to just get a new seat since there are a few available. Saddleman makes the double bucket variety I can get for 180 shipped. Corbin makes a version for the magna but its $150 more. Does anyone here have experience good or bad with either of these. I would like to hear it either way. If you have anymore info on available seats for the magna please let me in on that as well. I tend to do long ride with only stops for gas. My time with my shadow (a very bad seat) has led me to appreciate the (much better) seat on the cbr or nighthawk. If its going to be that kind of difference I don't mind the additional cost up to the point of the Corbin.

I had or have (gave it to my baby brother but it is still sitting in my parking spot at home) a V45 Sabre, the stable mate of your Magna and while a nice bike it had a horrid saddle guaranteed to numb your bum and mangle your gentlemen parts after a couple of hours of riding. The Connie came with a Corbin and it was like the difference between night and day, I can sit comfortably on that all day and not feel crippled. But I have been told that when it comes to Corbins, you either hate them or love them, guess you can put me in the love them camp.

The problem with my shadow was the foam was too weak and I felt the pan from about the 4 hour mark of its first real trip. And the way the back of it curved up bit my tail bone. The CBR and Night hawk are just a little soft but overall a world better. Although I am not FAT I am fairly heavy. My Fzr Has surprised me I can stay on it 3 hrs without stopping cause the foam is nice and firm. The Corbin is very sculpted and if your butt is designed for it I bet it is nice. I guess Ill call them and see what they have to say.

Saddleman does a good job, so does Corbin. In most cases you get what you paid for but I've never been disapointed with Saddleman

i upgraded to a mustang on my suzuki - and NEVER EVER looked back... VERY comfortable and supportive.... i know you didn't list them and i don't know if they offer one for your bike, but it was worth the expense!

The mustang seats I have seen certainly seemed comfortable however none to fit my bike. If anyone knows of another option I am open to it... I wish I had a seat that i could use to put some hours on this bike to see how I like it before I throw more than I paid for the bike into a seat. The different contour of the Saddleman and Corbin seats are quite different from each other. The Corbin seat available for my Nighthawk looks very comfortable and I plan on buying one when money is a little more available. I was worried about the whole getting what you pay for thing with the Saddleman being about half the money. I don't need leather (corbin) but for the difference I was afraid I was missing something great......

Look at a bike wrecker and see if he has a used seat or pan you can customize... Get it made to fit your bum and you'll never be disappointed again
