BMW FORK FAILER

i read this on ADVenture rider ride the world forum about a 2011 bmw g 650 gs with 95 miles on it, fork broke on a straight away 40mph.

There was an older thread on ADV about this. Older F650GS's had some fork failures. Apparently around 2003 BMW redesigned the fork, but never recalled the older bikes or acknowledged a problem. Now we have this bike, which is a new G650GS and should have the newer, post-2003 fork design. This is first failure of the new design I've heard about.

i've tried to figure out how to post (antiquewildow, user's name) on this site But don't know how.it was posted 6-22-11--6:29pm he lives upper nys. he was wearing protective gear & full face helment, nothing broke But bruised bad. speed was 20-30 & was turning 40' up road.
