I started on dirt bikes in '89. I'm still in my 20's... Wow. Now I'm just feeling old!

If being a passenger counts for anything, I've been riding since '81. Otherwise, I've been riding solo on and off since '93, seriously since '03, and sold the car in '06 to make the bike my primary mode of transportation.
Ooooooh. Shiny!

Well, When I was 16 the neighbor had a dirt bike we used a little.
But I really just started 3.5 to 4 years ago.

I may have 40 years of riding, but the day I think I know it all will be the day I hang my gear up forever. Every single time on a bike, I take it as a learning experience, there's always a new twist in the stupid things cagers do or the road throws at me. New road surfaces during all the construction around here. I hope I have another 20 or so years of learning in my future...

So verm, now that you're the experienced biker that you are and have had time in the saddle, would you have started any differently then the the big bike? I know you got a lot of flack when you first started and I'm curious, do you think everyone who warned you against it had valid arguments or no?
Just wondering, and welcome back (I know it's been a bit since you resurfaced, but I just noticed yesterday) lol.

i never became fast. i suck at the turns, never got a knee down.
if it turns out that i would have been able to do extreme lean angles if i started on a small bike then yeah... i would have started small if i went back in time.
thanks for the welcome.

Thanks verm, didn't mean anything negative by my question. Was just curious to see what time and experience taught you. Glad you're back! Have you added any other accessories to your bike? Still have the shifter swapped around and the what ever it was to get some more juice outta it?
