I agree, it could have something to do with you holding on to hard. Get use to Hwy riding and it might help.

The main reason your hands go numb is because your armes are either to short or to long. Set the Bars so that when sitting in the rideing position you are not leaning into the bar or stretching away from the bar. That way your hands are relaxed in the rideing position. Give it a try and let me know

I work in a factory with a torch, after 2miles my hands get numb, from 18yrs of doing the same Job, after about 50 miles they feel OK.

You could try a throttle rocker, they work for a lot of riders. :D
