TWO FLATS IN A WEEK
One morning I found the bike with the rear tire flat but the last occurred at about 65 mph. I felt lucky to keep it upright. The 1st cost me a new tire, tube and labor foe $300. The 2nd was a new tube only...with labor $120. Have many of you had flats? ......I need a break.

Re: TWO FLATS IN A WEEK
Sorry to hear that. That's pretty bad luck there Perry. Thinking about your situation, I just realised I've never had a flat motorcycle tire (knock on wood) thus far in almost 20 years of riding.

I feel your pain bud. Got home from riding Pikes Peak on Saturday and heard a really really loud hiss... Turns out I picked up a razor blade of all things.

Re: TWO FLATS IN A WEEK
I know its not a bike flat, but I blew out two tires on my utility trailer over the week end. One was never used spare that I had bought new about 8 years ago and stored ib my garage. Ended up with a blow out about 8 inches long right up the middle of the tread. I got 6 Kms out of that tire. I think if Canadian tire still sells the same brand I may switch er roo thr thing.

Re: TWO FLATS IN A WEEK
Tires are one of the things I really keep up on. Even so, I've had flats. Few though these may be, it's not an experience I want to revisit. The last few years I've been running Rhino (puncture proof) tires. *Click Here* This process is suppose to make your tires run cooler and last longer. Donno about that, but I am averaging 15,000 to 18,000 miles on a set of them. Depending on how far I want to push it.
Just something to think about.

Re: TWO FLATS IN A WEEK
I got almost 30,000km on my Dunlops....I replaced them and then got a flat on the new ones. Turned out to be a faulty valve.
Isn't it amazing how different riding styles affect the wear and tear on tires........
Not to mention gas consumption....

Yeesh. Well keep in mind that higher horsepower vehicles also get rid of tires faster, and he's on the fully faired version of the Valkyrie!
I got 4500 miles out of a set of Pilot Power 2CTs and I was about average from what I hear. Although no matter how I ride I get between 39 and 45 MPG.
