I've never tried a three-wheeler, but I'd give it a whirl.

Sooo basically because you don't think it's cool, you were laughing at others who like what they ride? That makes no sense to me. Especially coming from a guy riding a HD, powered by a Porsche designed motor, with the basic architecture stolen from Honda, that you have to bend in half to ride. (And yes, I've ridden 3 different models of the V-Rod, you bend in half to ride them.)snakedoctEr726 wrote:I'm not a 1%er, just a mechanic and a Harley enthusiast. If you had been in the exact same situation, you would have done the exact same thing and you know it. These people looked literally that stupid. A poser is someone who thinks their bike is better simply because they are the one riding it.
I was laughing at them because they looked stupid. They reminded me of when children wear their parents clothes and think they are indistinguishable from adults.
My V-Rod isn't the best bike on the road, it's just my favorite.

I'll laugh at anyone who looks like an idiot, it doesn't matter what they are riding. The V-Rod is based on the engine from the HD VR-1000. Porsche offered some refinements in the manufacturing process, like cold cracked connecting rods and some others, but the design is all Harley. I think the idea of a muscle bike/power cruiser comes more from Yamaha (Vmax) than from Honda. It's definitely not the most comfortable bike in the world. I have bar risers on mine but it's still not as comfortable as my old FXD.Wrider wrote: Sooo basically because you don't think it's cool, you were laughing at others who like what they ride? Anyway, to get back on topic, Spyders suck.

Re: This Week - 2013 Can-Am Spyder ST-S: Vote & Discuss
I voted: Uncool.
I really don't know about these reverse 3 wheelers myself, a little too bulky, big and too much like a car (they even use car tires). I think if a big company like BRP didn't own Can-Am (and Rotax and Ski-do, Sea-Do and Lynx...) then this would have all fell into failure years ago. Rather than market them as "motorcycles" I think Can-Am should market them as 3 wheel cars. But a classification is a classification.
Would I try one? Sure, maybe that is what is really needed and what Can-Am pushes for, after all, trying one can be good word of mouth.
Ok enough with the cons. What I like about them (and thus it isn't a FAIL for me) is they are innovative, unique and appeal to a really different crowd that hasn't been marketed to very much. It's a cool option to have, even if it's not for me.
...and I like the yellow and the blue color choices too!

It must be more fun to ride this thing than driving a car!Grey Thumper wrote: So it combines the disadvantages of cars and bikes, while having none of the advantages of either.

Anyone ever ridden a snowmobile? Two skis out front and a single track in the back, and they are a lot of fun.

Re: This Week - 2013 Can-Am Spyder ST-S: Vote & Discuss
Well, that was quite an interesting model to vote on and discuss eh? Turns out it's a "like it or hate it" type of bike based on the voting, which it pretty much I think what we all expected before the vote! But no matter, the 2013 Can-Am Spyder ST-S still comes out on the Cool side of the vote by 52%! Well done Can-Am!
Here we go:
Your Coolness Factor of the 2013 Can-Am Spyder ST-S is...
