Bluing headers on new 2013 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone... normal?

Just to close this off. I had to take the bike in on the weekend to get the new Mistral slip-ons installed and they checked my ECU for any engine errors and running conditions, all came back normal.

Check the boxer motor beemers too, they all do this right out of the box

Seems I must be just riding the bike hard as I do love to accelerate and really push the bike. (which is awesome as I can and not exceedingly break the speed limits and have a bucket load of fun doing it). 1st gear will get me to 25mph and 2nd to 35mph (at 4-5000rpm). The bike really sings in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears. Just to have "torque fun" on the highway I ride it in 4th gear at 65mph.

Darn, I'm getting excited about riding the Moto Guzzi again.

I've already noticed some goldening of the new slip-on exhausts. I wonder if my pipes glow red at night?

Way back when we use to paint the inside of the pipes to keep the blues away. Used flat black primer.

I have heard that, but then I heard the paint eventually burned away and the pipes would blue again. Now it seems popular to have blued pipes...haha.

I don't mind the discoloration on the slip on's, but I'll keep an eye on it in case it gets much worse or starts to blue.

An old trick for the blueing is to wash the blue areas with fresh lemon juice, then polish with metal polish, keeps it at bay for a while.

Interesting. I guess the acid helps reduce the blueing then. Think I'll give that a shot.

On a side note I was out at the Republic Harley-Davidson bike night last night and one of the techs took an interest in my Moto Guzzi, he said that the reason to him the pipes are blueing is because they are cooling down on the outside too quickly and suggested either I:

A. Heat wrap the pipes to keep them warm so they don't warp in 10k miles.
B. Get a power commander. (Dynojet is working on a version for the new 2013 V7 engine, but it's not available yet).
