Well if you promise to not tell Mrs. High Side... I'd have to say the Ducati Monster line. I tested a 620 back in 2005ish and I didn't find it very comfortable. And just this past summer I tried Mrs. High Side's 696 and was sorely disappointed - the only way to describe the ride was to say I felt like "a baby in a shopping cart" - it was like being bounced all around, out of control!

I could see Hyperr's point as I find when you get bigger in the inline engines they become "car smooth" and shifting is no longer needed as you can do everything in 1st to 3rd gear with a very linear powerband. The charater to these bikes is in the style*, top end speed and incredible acceleration. I'm a big fan of the inline's but the mix has to be done just right if you are wanting character.

* IMO you need to see as much engine as possible with big engined bikes.
