My Moto Guzzi V7. Does it smell like pizza or is it just me?

Well, she is Latin and has a couple of big jugs out front......soooooooo....

I tried to keep it Latin. The ahem, older gentlemen might think Loren. Those young ones would tend to think Vergara... Both have traits of Mike's "Bad" Moto-Guzzi

The best I can tell there is only one dealer in the Dallas area that carries the Moto Guzzi line, RPM Cycle in farmers Branch, and I have not had a chance to drop in. Their current on-line inventory contains one 2012 Norge and one 2013 V7 Stone. Colour? I like the black and yellow, but I am getting a lot of Hi-Vis neon yellow gear and I think it will probably clash with that yellow paint. What I like the most about the Special are those beautiful wire spoke wheels and the bold look of the motor.

So... the other night I am on the Honda website, it is not at all uncommon for me to be on a motorcycle website of late, and I am looking hard at the CB500F and then the new CB1100. How I wish Honda had used the same basic styling on the CB500F. A smaller, more economical, version of the CB1100 would be great. Doh! The V7 offerings look to be just about perfect to fill that void with a lot of extra class over the more pedestrian Hondas.

My biggest concern with the Guzzi is the extent of the dealer network, but the V7 Special is on the very top of the short list for a second bike after I get a year or two of riding. I have a bit less than a year and a half to pay off my truck and then I think I will saving and looking hard for a Happy Bikeday. I might just make my first significant motorcycle rode trip down to MPH Cycles in Houston to look at their Guzzi innovatory.

Please keep this blog going. I want to hear all the details about your relationship with Soph... I mean your Guzzi.

I never understood why people from South America are often referred to as Latinos and Latinas. Latin was the language of the Ancient Romans and originated in what we call Italy today. Italy never had much to do with South America at all. The countries that exploited South America during Colonialism and Imperialism were Spain, Portugal, England, France, and Netherland. So why are people from South America referred to as Latinos and Latinas in the US and Canada?

OR

"Sometimes Mike and I ride Sophia together...."

OR

"He used to REALLY like Sophia, but then she got the aftermarket cans, now it's pure lust..."

Oh, that's just soo good in many different (and get me in trouble) levels. hahaha.


I tried typing "italian bad girl model" in Google to see who the modern model is today for Sophia, but I don't suggest doing that as the results are a little too riskay.

Good question! I hope someone can answer it... I sure can't...

As for naming the bike, okay you guys are pretty funny with your "he's out riding Sofia" quotes... But don't you think Sofia is too soft of a name for a bike? I was thinking more like Black Bessie. (Which is a reference for High_Side, not a serious suggestion )

That was my primary interest in taking a trip to Houston.

I just read a thread on the Adventure Riders forum about the California that was interesting and it provided quite a bit of reassurance about the future of Moto Guzzi in America. I love the bikes, but my biggest single reservation is the dealer network.

The MG dealership here is very small but the guy that runs the place (also named Mike) is great.
