1. Made breakfast for kids and myself.
2. Before I could eat breakfast (or even get a cup of coffee), tones dropped for two-vehicle crash - one on its top, with fire, with one entrapment (upon my arrival, fire was out). Clean up at the station, with all the chit-chat and socializing that goes with it.
3. Breakfast and coffee (finally) with the husband (he had the day off!).
4. Mowed the yard, which takes forever... I have a small mower and a double-sized lot of land.
5. One-hour motorcycle ride in the company of the husband (he just got a new battery for his bike). Big, gusty wind kept the ride on the shorter side.
6. Shower and then 4-hour power nap before getting ready for my midnight dispatcher shift.
Days like these always remind me of how old I am (feeling the aches and pains of the 45-YO that I am), yet also keep me feeling "young" and purposeful. There are many days when I want to quit the fire department, but then I go on a call like the one today - finding a woman upside down in her car, still strapped in her seatbelt - and I think... for today, I can do this.
Cheers,
Kris

Re: What did you do today...
I'm in the process of doing the same thing...house goes on the market May 1st. Down sizing is the plan with a side of paying off debt...kids are getting close to college age and we don't need 5 bedrooms.NorthernPete wrote:Sold my house. Lol. Moving again. 5th time in 12 years. Down sizing I think.
Hoping the weather forcast is correct so that I can get my first ride of the season in when I'm home next weekend!! Come on SPRING!!

Re: What did you do today...
Got off work at 07:00, went for a relaxing breakfast at a nearby Denny's. Then went and took a 2011 Ram 3500 for a test drive. Got home at about 15:00 behind the wheel of my new to me toy... Yes, it has a 6.7L Cummins in it...

Re: What did you do today...
Took squirrel #12 away and also cut the 1/3 acre lawn...
Mow, mow, mow the lawn gently back and forth.
Merrily, merrily, merrily an hour to cut it isn't quite a breeze.
lol.
